Isaac Obeng, the Public Relations Officer of Berekum Chelsea, disclosed that their head coach, Samuel Boadu, is determined to avenge his former team, Hearts of Oak, in an upcoming Ghana Premier League match.
Boadu, who previously led Hearts of Oak but was dismissed two seasons ago due to a slow start, has made it clear that Wednesday's fixture against his former club is personal.
Speaking to Nhyira FM in Kumasi, Obeng revealed that Boadu has promised his players a special bonus if they secure victory against Hearts of Oak.
“It’s a revenge game for Samuel Boadu against Hearts of Oak on Wednesday. He has personally promised the guys (Berekum Chelsea players) that if they win, he has a special bonus for them,” Isaac Obeng said.
Boadu enjoyed success with Hearts of Oak, claiming five trophies in under two years, including the Ghana Premier League title and the FA Cup twice.
As the match approaches, Berekum Chelsea sits in 8th place with 41 points, while Hearts of Oak, struggling with only one win in their last six games, languish in 13th place.
