Highly-rated coach Bismark Kobby Mensah has expressed elation on the back of taking over Bechem United and also having the core of last season's squad at his disposal.

He is coming in as the successor of experience Kasim Ocansey Mingle- who left his post after the season to join newly-promoted side Nations FC- who finished as winners of Division One-Zone Two last season.

The enterprising gaffer will have to put in extra efforts to be able to fill the vacuum at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park, premising it on the performance of his predecessor who played in the FA Cup final and also made top four finishes in the last two years.

In an interview on Onua TV's 'Agoro Fie', the ex- Karela United coach says he's been assured of the availability of most of the team's core for next season and is very optimistic of a successful stay in Bechem.

"I am happy about the fact that we [Kassim Mingle and Kobi Mensah] have similarities in our style of coaching. I am also fortunate to have inherited the good players Kassim Mingle worked with,” he told Onua Sports.

“I have also been told that the club is not ready to accept any offer for any of their players unless it comes from a foreign club. Thus I will most likely have the core of the team to build on."

During the 2022/2023 BetPawa Premier League season, Kobi-Mensah departed from his position at Karela United FC and joined Accra Great Olympics until the conclusion of the season.

Following the season's end, Great Olympics and Bismark Kobby Mensah decided not to renew their collaboration, leading the former to seek their former coach, Annor Walker.

Subsequently, Bismark Kobi-Mensah has rejoined Bechem United and will assume the role of Head Coach until 2025.

In the past, he has served as a coach for FC Samartex 1996, Sekondi Hasaacas FC, and Nzema Kotoko.
