The Porcupine Warriors have completed the loan signing of the young left-back from Sudanese Premier League heavyweights, Kickgh.com can confirm.

Sudanese heavyweights Al Hilal Omdurman have confirmed the departure of Esmat Abdulhamid Mohamed to join Ghanaian side Asante Kotoko on a season-long loan deal.

The 21-year-old is scheduled to arrive in Ghana on Monday to undergo a mandatory medical examination and to begin life at the Kumasi-based club.

Kickgh.com understands that the youngster is joining Asante Kotoko upon the recommendation of Sudan head coach Kwesi Appiah, who doubles as the technical director of Asante Kotoko.

Esmat Abdulhamid is rated as one of the talented U23 full-backs in Sudanese football and rose through the ranks of Al Hilal Omdurman.

He was later farmed out to Al Falah SC to spend the 2022/23 season at the club and featured in over 20 matches.

Esmat Abdulhamid once earned a call-up to the senior national team of Sudan.

In a shock move, Asante Kotoko parted ways with 18 players last week, including Kalo Ouattara, Nicholas Osei Bonsu, Isaac Oppong, Augustine Agyapong, and Nicholas Mensah. The others let go were John Tedeku, Sherif Mohammed, George Mfegue, Serge Eric Zeze, Danlad Ibrahim, Moise Pouaty, Samuel Asamoah, Nanabayin Amoah, Isahaku Fuseini, Rocky Dwamena, Richmond Opoku, Julius Ofori Ziggy, Enoch Morrison and youngster Shadrack Addo.

The mass exodus comes after Kotoko failed to win the Ghana Premier League title at the end of the 2023/24 campaign and finished 6th in the standings.

The club is expected to revamp its squad ahead of the next season.
