Ghanaian giants Hearts of Oak have announced in a statement that, Daniel Afriyie Barnieh has signed a contract extension with the club, despite not stating the actual duration agreed.
The 21 year old's contract with the 'Phobians' was supposed to runout on December 31, 2022 but has agreed to sign a short extension which will only permit him to feature in the 2022 African Nations Championship, Kickgh.com can authoritatively report
The enterprising forward is cherished wo well by the Hearts faithfuls, following his outstanding and consistent high-level display for the club, having won five trophies including the GPL which had eluded them for over a decade.
He captained the Black Satellites to the WAFU and African Youth Championship within that period and is now the captain of the Black Meteors who edged past Mozambique in the first phase of the Africa U-23 Championship qualifiers.
Barnieh, 21, made the Black Stars final squad for the just ended 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
He is currently with the home-based national team in Egypt as they continue with preparations towards the 2022 CHAN tournament which starts in few weeks from now.
