Hohoe United have been handed a three-season ban by the  Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Football Association following their withdrawal from the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.

The club took the decision to pull out of the league after an emergency board meeting held on April 1, 2026, citing concerns over what they described as systemic unfairness, biased officiating and the imposition of neutral-ground matches after a stadium ban.

As part of the sanctions, Hohoe United have been suspended from all GFA-organized competitions until the 2029/2030 football season, effectively sidelining the club from competitive football for the duration of the punishment.

In addition to the suspension, the club has also been demoted and will be required to compete in Division Two under the Greater Accra Regional Football Association once the ban period is completed.

The decision marks a significant disciplinary action by the GFA, underscoring its stance on clubs withdrawing from official competitions.

Hohoe United, however, have been granted a three-day window to appeal the ruling if they wish to challenge the sanctions imposed.
