The talented defensive midfielder has ended his stay at the Kumasi-based outfit upon the expiration of his contract.

Asante Kotoko midfielder Sherif Mohammed has confirmed his departure from the club following the club's decision not to renew his contract after three years.

Mohammed, who joined the Porcupine Warriors from Ghanaian lower-tier side Steadfast FC, took to his social media platforms to announce his exit from the club.

“I'm grateful to Asante Kotoko SC, its management, coaches, players, and fans for three incredible years with this great club. As my contract ends today, I reflect on the unforgettable memories, experiences, and growth. I wish the club the best this season. Cheers!!!” Sheriff Mohammed wrote on his social media platforms.

The 22-year-old was a kingpin in the Asante Kotoko team before being involved in a motor accident prior to the start of the second round of the 2023/24 season's campaign. The incident ruled him out of action, and he has been in the treatment room for several months.

Mohammed made 61 appearances during the three-year stay at Asante Kotoko and scored two goals and provided four assists.
