Hearts of Oak marksman, Daniel Afriyie Barnieh will miss the Super-Clash against arch rivals Asante Kotoko this weekend in match-week 3 of the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League.

The 21 year has been really amazing to the 'Phobians' since joining them two years ago and last season was of no exception.

He was recently the marksman for the Black Galaxies and powered them to the 2023 CHAN tournament after a long abeyance- a tourney which is slated for early next year in Algeria, having netted three goals in the four matches they played in the qualifiers.

In the just-started 2022/23 GPL season, he's featured in all the two games Hearts of Oak have honoured so far and is yet to register his name on the scoresheet.

However, Afriyie Barnieh made the Black Stars squad for the pre- World Cup friendlies against Brazil and Nicaragua and has left the shores of the country to France to join the team's camping which starts today.

This will be a huge blow for coach Samuel Boadu who will have to start preparing towards the big game without the service of the former Black Satellites skipper.

The two time African champions are winless in their opening two matches, having lost to Aduana Stars in their season opener and drew with Great Olympics in the 'Ga-Mantse' derby over the weekend.
