David Ocloo, the Deputy Coach for Accra Hearts of Oak, has provided an update on the injuries of key players ahead of their upcoming match against Kotoku Royals on Sunday.
The Rainbows have not yet announced their match squad for the game, but having these players back would be a significant boost for them before the international break.
While it is uncertain whether captain Gladson Awako, who has missed the team's last three games, will make the squad for the game, the medical team is working on him. Meanwhile, Gideon Asante is back to training, Robert Addo Sowah is receiving treatment, and Dennis Korsah is back to light training.
"We really miss our captain [Awako]. The medical team are working on him. We just pray that he will be recovered soon. Gideon Asante is back to training. Addo is also on the injury list. He is receiving treatment. Korsah is also back doing some light training. I just pray they all get fit for Sunday’s match but we are good to go," said Coach David Ocloo to the club's communication team.
Hearts of Oak will face relegation-battling Kotoku Royals at the Accra Sports Stadium in week 22 of the BetPawa Premier League, hoping to bounce back after a 1-1 draw with Bibiani Gold Stars. Currently, the Rainbows rank fourth, while Kotoku Royals rank 18th after 21 games.
