Hearts of Oak sweeper Kelvin Osei Assibey made a costly error at Asante Kotoko, but managing director of Hearts of Oak, Delali Anku-Adiamah says no one should be blaming him.
Osei-Asibey made a costly error at the death of their Match-week 13 match on Sunday afternoon at the Baba Yara Stadium. Kotoko striker Albert Amoah then capitalized on it to condemn the Phobians to their fourth Ghana Premier League defeat this season.
It turned out to be the only goal in the game, thanks largely to some heroics of the dangling ruthless Albert Amoah.
Anku-Adiamah, almost certainly was hoping for a draw, said he doesn’t really think it’s necessary for Asibey to offer his apologies and own the mistake.
“You can’t just look at the mistake. It came way up the field before it got to the defense. Let's look at the whole situation: what happened from the middle to the back. Kelvin was one of the best players if not man of the match. Some of the tackles and the clearances he made were amazing," he told Kessben FM.
“Black Stars should look at Asibey because he is an amazing player. Mistakes can happen so let’s not judge a player by just one mistake."
