Medeama SC could be set to lose one of their brightest talents, with attacking midfielder Derrick Fordjour reportedly on his way out after contract extension talks collapsed, according to reports from Kessben FM.
The 23-year-old who can also operate on the wings has just a few months left on his current deal, but negotiations with the club over a new deal have completely stalled sparking serious doubts over his future in Tarkwa.
Kickgh.com understands that Medeama are desperate to keep hold of Fordjour, but the player has yet to put pen to paper despite repeated efforts from the club’s hierarchy. In response, management have allegedly decided to sideline him until a resolution is reached.
Fordjour’s limited involvement this season has only fueled exit rumours, with the pacy wide man featuring in just four of Medeama’s eight Ghana Premier League matches so far.
Having joined Medeama in 2022 on a four-year deal, Fordjour played a key role in the club’s historic 2022–23 title-winning campaign, contributing two goals and five assists in 27 appearances.
Since joining Medeama in 2022 on a four-year deal, Fordjour has established himself as one of the most exciting attacking wingers in the Ghanaian top flight, clocking 91 league appearances with seven goals and eleven assists to his name
With the January transfer window fast approaching, the player’s future remains uncertain and Medeama may be forced to cash in rather than risk losing him for free when his contract expires.
