Nana Akwesi Gyambibi Coker- former General Manager of Asante Kotoko, has disclosed that, Dr. Kwame Kyei will willingly return to his role at Kotoko as the Executive Board Chairman if only he is considered once more.
The ace businessman has been handling the Porcupine Warriors for the past five years and has done an incredibly job within that period in terms of financial supports especially in the early stages he took over.
However, the board had their mandate expired few weeks ago and have been dissolved with a new one yet to be established very soon and will definitely be before the commencement of the 2022/23 season.
With this, many especially in the indigenous media, have reported it is most likely Dr. Kwame Kyei could be re-appointed on the new board and Nana Coker has stated he will willingly honour the call if only he is considered for the big position again.
"For now I will say Dr Kwame Kyei is my father, I cannot confirm or deny that he (Dr Kyei) could be retained as the board chairman or made the executive chairman of Kotoko. I have seen and read speculations in the media to that effect but I am unable to speak to that news,” he said in an interview with Akoma FM in Kumasi.
“Should His Royal Majesty call on him anytime, he (Dr Kyei) will happily and willingly accept the call, he cannot turn his back on Manhyia as a true son of Asanteman and a servant of the Golden stool.”
