Former Asante Kotoko marksman, Sarfo Gyamfi, has alleged that Board Chairman Dr Kwame Kyei was the problem of the club because he distracted Nana Yaw Amponsah in the early stages of his appointment.
Nana Yaw Amponsah was appointed at the latter part of 2020 as the Chief Executive Officer and has been praised for his leadership role so far.
Asante Kotoko had already won the Ghana Premier League before beating Great Olympics on Sunday, with just three games to spare the ongoing campaign.
On a flip side, Asante Kotoko were eliminated in the early stages of the MTN FA by King Faisal.
And now, Sarfo Gyamfi, 56, says Kwame Kyei was a problem for the Porcupine Warriors' current management.
"Dr Kwame Kyei was the problem for Asante Kotoko and that's why now things are working well since He stopped whatever He was doing, in the early stages He distracted NYA a lot," he alleged on Hot FM.
"George Kennedy came to me to tell me about how Dr Kwame Kyei was not happy about how I spoke about him in one of my radio interviews and that I should go and say sorry but I turned it down."
"The board are doing so well, no need to change them, they promised the players five thousand dollars each (5,000 dollars) if they win the league and I am reliably informed that the board are preparing to reward the players as they promised " he concluded.
Asante Kotoko will welcome relegated Elmina Sharks to Kumasi in the final home game of the season.
