Samartex FC skipper, Emmanuel Keyekeh disagrees with anyone that undermines the competitiveness of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season and feels it is the best we have seen for quiet a while now.

The 26-year-old midfielder, enjoyed a fantastic season with the Timber Giants having led as a captain to help them win their first ever league title in just their second campaign in the topflight.

The lanky middleman was unplayable and was arguably the best midfielder last season having netted 5 goals and provided 2 assists from the center-half of the pitch in 32 league matches.

His stellar performance earned him a huge accolade over the weekend after being adjudged the best home-based footballer at the 2024 Ghana Football Awards.

In an exclusive interview on Fox FM in Kumasi, Keyekeh stated categorically clear that, they won the championship fairly without any external help and that was all thanks to their supporters for rallying behind them throughout the entire campaign.

"The 2023/24 GPL season was more competitive than the previous ones."

"The 16/17 wins at home were motivated by our supporters and not any other influence like people are saying."

Emmanuel Keyekeh is currently enjoying holidays and is hoping to return fully fit and poised for preseason ahead of the 2024/25 football season.
