Former Hearts of Oak and Ghana U23 goalkeeper Richmond Ayi has joined Ethiopian Premier League club Shire Endaselassie, signing a short-term contract with an option to extend beyond the 2025/26 season.
The 28-year-old shot-stopper makes the transfer after a spell with Dreams FC, where he featured in both the Ghana Premier League and the CAF Confederation Cup. His move marks his first venture into East African football as he looks to revive his career with Sehul Shire, as the club is widely known.
Ayi began his professional journey with Techiman City FC before moving to WAFA SC, where his standout performances earned him a transfer to Hearts of Oak in 2018. He became one of the most consistent goalkeepers in the domestic league, playing a key role in Hearts’ 2021 Premier League and FA Cup double, which ended their 11-year title drought.
At Shire Endaselassie, Ayi will aim to use his experience to help the team push for a strong campaign in the Ethiopian top flight, while re-establishing himself
