Former Asante Kotoko striker, Stephen Amankona, has confirmed that Ghana Premier League side, Accra Hearts of Oak, has reached out to him for his services ahead of the 2023/24 season.
Addressing the rumors linking him to the Rainbows, the ex-GPL winner said: "Yes, some of their leaders, including Samuel Inkoom, have held talks with me," he confirmed to Ghanasportspage.com.
Amankona expressed his desire to play for the 2020/21 champions, stating, "Accra Hearts of Oak is a big club, and I'm ready. The most important thing is the deal. If the deal is good, I will join them."
Amankona returned to Berekum Chelsea in January following an unsuccessful spell at Asante Kotoko.
Before signing for the Porcupine Warriors two seasons ago, the 23-year-old attacker was instrumental for the Bibires in the Ghanaian top-flight during the 2020/21 season, where he netted 10 goals in 28 matches and helped them reach the semi-finals of the FA Cup.
His potential acquisition will boost the frontline of Hearts of Oak after their struggles in the just-ended campaign.
Following the talks with the player, the Rainbows are set to submit a bid to Berekum Chelsea to secure the services of the talented attacker.
