The stalwart centre-back has caught the eye of the Porcupine Warriors following his outstanding performance in the just concluded Ghana Premier League season.

Ghana Premier League powerhouse Asante Kotoko has expressed keen interest in securing the signature of former Great Olympics defender Ebenezer Sekyere on a free transfer.

Kickgh.com understands that negotiations between Asante Kotoko and Sekyere's current club are in full swing, with talks progressing positively. If the deal goes through, Sekyere could soon be donning the iconic red jersey of Asante Kotoko, ready to make his mark on the pitch and delight fans with his stellar performances.

With the 24-year-old being a Kumasi boy, the Porcupine Warriors are looking to nip on that factor to secure his service for next season and are very much aware of how tough it will be to snatch him on a free transfer. The former Asokwa Deportivo defender managed to feature in 28 league appearances with incredible displays for Great Olympics in the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season.

Sekyere's exceptional performances for Great Olympics have caught the attention of the management and technical handlers of Asante Kotoko, who see him as a valuable addition to their squad.

His solid defensive skills and ability to read the game make him a coveted player for the team and also strengthen the backline of the team, making him a direct replacement for Sheriff Mohammed, who was released by Asante Kotoko earlier this week.

Also, Aduana Stars FC are also seriously interested, and it is understood that this is a recommendation from Bismark Kobby Mensah who, per reports, has agreed to join the Dormaa-based side for the 2024–25 season's campaign.

Sekyere, who arrived at Great Olympics in 2020, made 101 league appearances during his stay for the ‘Oly Dade’ lads, with a goal and assist to his credit.
