Caleb Amankwah has declined a contract extension offer from Hearts of Oak, Kickgh.com can exclusively report.
Despite his team's disappointing campaign, the 25-year-old has been one of the standout performers in the Ghana Premier League this season.
Hearts of Oak made an effort to keep Amankwah by proposing an improved monthly salary of Ghc 7,000 for a new contract. However, his representatives were not satisfied with the offer and have chosen not to extend his current deal.
Amankwah's existing contract with the Accra-based club is set to expire in July 2023. It has been reported that he has received several offers from European clubs, particularly from Serbia.
Local media sources indicate that a Serbian club has presented a $300,000 offer to secure the services of the WAFA Academy graduate. Amankwah has reportedly accepted this offer and plans to move abroad after the conclusion of the 2022/23 season.
Amankwah joined Hearts of Oak on a free transfer from Aduana Stars on March 12, 2021. Since his arrival, he has already achieved success, winning the Ghana Premier League, two FA Cup titles, and the President's Cup.
He has netted three goals in 24 games with an assist to his credit in the ongoing season.
