Medeama SC have advanced to the quarter-final of the MTN FA Cup after a 4-2 penalty shootouts win over FC Samartex in a game that finished goalless in regulation time.
The game at the TnA Stadium was a very fascinating one with both teams pushing against each other right from onset.
The homesters looked very much desperate and created series of goal-scoring opportunities but unfortunately the solid backline of Samartex were able to curb all those attacks.
Kofi Agbesimah at certain point in the game collided with his own goalkeeper Zakari Musah in an attempt to defend a corner and went down in a very dangerous fashion but thankfully he is doing well per reports.
In the second half, both teams doubled their attack on each other with series of attacks but both teams looked very solid and resolute in defense.
Everything was produced in the game with the exception of a goal sending the game to penalty shootouts after a goalless draw in regulation time.
Medeama SC advanced to the next round after a 4-2 win in the shootouts, scoring all their four kicks with Samartex missing two.
