Asante Kotoko's interim coach, Abdulai Gazale, has voiced his criticism of referee Moro Osman's performance, accusing him of biased decisions in favor of Karela United during their 2022/23 Ghana Premier League week 32 match.

The game ended in a 1-1 draw at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Monday.

Gazale expressed his disappointment with the officiating, suggesting that the referee had a preconceived intention to hinder Asante Kotoko's chances of securing a victory.

"The game was highly contested, but the officiating was abysmal," Gazale stated in a post-match interview.

According to Gazale, the pivotal moment in the match occurred when the referee failed to award a penalty to Asante Kotoko.

Gazale firmly believed that his team should have been granted a clear penalty for a handball incident. He highlighted the reaction of the crowd as evidence of the perceived injustice.

"Because the referee neglected to award us a clear penalty for the handball incident, it was an obvious handball. You saw the reaction of the crowd; this is very disheartening."

Despite the draw, the result has seen Asante Kotoko move up from fifth to fourth position in the Ghana Premier League standings. The Porcupine Warriors now have 48 points after playing 32 matches.
