New Asante Kotoko Technical Director and interim head coach Abdul Karim Zito has said that for the club to regain its top spot in the Ghana Premier League will be difficult.
Zito rejoins the club following the departure of Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum.
Zito, a highly experienced tactician and former Ghana U20 coach, takes over the reins at a critical point in Kotoko’s season. The Porcupine Warriors have struggled for consistency in recent weeks, prompting the club to make a change in leadership.
Speaking during his unveiling, Zito expressed confidence in the team's ability to bounce back, saying: “Getting back to the top of the table is difficult but not impossible, and it’s never over until the end."
His appointment comes as the club aims to reignite their campaign and push for a stronger finish in the Ghana Premier League.
Kotoko currently sit fourth on the league table and will be looking to respond quickly to recent setbacks under the new leadership.
Zito’s immediate challenge will be preparing the team for their next Premier League clash against Aduana Stars, a match that could be pivotal in shaping the rest of their season.
