Ghana Football Association (GFA) General Secretary, Prosper Harrison Addo, says they've suspended the use of Ghana card only player registration.
The GFA directed that it will only consider the Ghana card for player registration before the opening of the transfer window.
But with the ongoing difficulties in acquiring the Ghana card, the GFA has accepted to relax the measures to ensure that clubs register their players.
The transfer window was opened on 1st July and will end in 15th August.
Asante Kotoko won the Ghana Premier league whiles Hearts of Oak retained the MTN FA cup last season.
The 2022/23 Ghana Premier league is expected to start on 9th September.
Lawyer Prosper Harrison Addo admits that it is difficult to acquire the Ghana card which has necessitated that decision to relax the directive.
"Yes, initially we had communicated to all clubs that the Ghana card will be solely used for player registration before the league commences," he said on Starr FM.
“But we had to put it on hold because most of the people involved in this exercise don’t have their cards ready to use for the whole exercise," he admitted
