FC Samartex 1996 head coach, Nurudeen Amadu has stated that the Black Stars will be more dominant on the international stage if the national team coaches put more faith in homegrown players.

The experienced tactician, whose team is currently sitting top of the league table, believes Otto Addo's team can build on their success if young Ghanaian players like Nations FC centre-back, Razak Simpson, and RTU striker, Alhassan Mankuyeli are given chances to prove themselves in the the Black Stars.

“The national team handlers they know what they are after, and you cannot force them to take a player but what I want to say is that not only our (Samartex) players but they must look at some local players to encourage them because sometimes the foreign ones who come don’t perform well," Coach Amadu told the Graphic Sports.

He further went ahead to charge the Black Stars coaches to take calculated risks by allowing local talents to represent Ghana at the highest level, highlighting the importance of grooming and promoting homegrown talents to the success of the national team in future tournaments.
