Richard Mahama's late controversial goal was enough for Aduana Stars to beat Asante Kotoko by 2-1 at the Nana Agyemang Badu II Stadium in match-day 21 of the Ghana Premier League earlier this afternoon.

The 'Ogya' lads opened the scoring account of the game in just ten minutes from kickoff through Kelvin Obeng who scored at a close range after receiving a good long pass from their territory.

Subsequently, the game became very even with the two sides launching series of attacks at each other in search of another goal.

However, it was Kotoko who found the next goal in the game after scoring from a penalty kick to level the score just on the stroke of half time through Ugandan forward Steven Mukwala.

In the second half, it was another explosive approach from the two sides but they also looked very resolute at the back in another not to allow in any cheap goal in their net.

Nonetheless, it was Richard Mahama who headed into the net controversially in the closing moment to steal a crucial win for the homesters as it finished 2-1 after full time.

Things got heated at some point with the Porcupine Warriors very furious and complaining bitterly on officiating and even led to their head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum being given the matching orders.

Aduana Stars after the win have maintained the second spot with 36 points whiles Kotoko have suddenly dropped to the seventh position with 32- five behind the top spot currently.
