The first half ended without any goals, and it seemed like the match might end in a draw. However, in the 89th minute, Ebenezer Abban scored for Heart of Lions, breaking the deadlock and giving his team the lead. Then, in stoppage time, Mahama Raf added another goal to double their advantage.
This late surge secured the victory for Lions, helping them climb one spot up the league standings. They are now in 16th place with 21 points. Considering their difficult situation before Bashiru Hayford took charge, this improvement is quite impressive.
On the other hand, RTU's struggles continue as they remain at the bottom of the league table after this loss. Their off-the-field issues seem to be affecting their performance on the pitch.
