In a stunning display of prowess, Heart of Lions delivered their standout performance of the season in the Ghana Premier League, crushing second-placed Nations FC at the Kpando Stadium on Sunday.

Lions roared to a resounding 3-0 triumph over Nations, igniting their fight against relegation and injecting a surge of confidence into Bashir Hayford's squad for the remainder of the campaign.

Hayford orchestrated a few strategic changes to Lions' lineup following their narrow defeat to Aduana Stars in the previous round, while Kassim Mingle Ocansey made subtle alterations to the Nations team.

The Kpando-based outfit wasted no time in asserting their dominance, with midfielder Mahmoud Mohaison breaking the deadlock just ten minutes into the encounter.

Teenage sensation Akwasi Bentil Duah further solidified Lions' lead in the 65th minute with a clinical finish from close range, adding to the visitors' woes.

Substitute Nana Kwame Oppong sealed Lions' victory in stoppage time, capitalizing on a cohesive team effort to find the back of the net and secure an emphatic win.

Despite the triumph, Lions maintain their position in 15th place on the league standings. However, the victory propels them within striking distance of the safety spots, just three points away.

On the other hand, Nations FC remains undeterred by the defeat, holding firm in the second position on the table, trailing league leaders FC Samartex 1996 by a margin of five points.
