Medeama SC played out an entertaining 1-1 draw against Asante Kotoko earlier this afternoon at the Akoon Park in an epic Ghana Premier League week 28 clash.

Medeama SC nearly made good use of the home advantage having come so close to scoring in just six minutes from kickoff but Derrick Fordjour's effort was parried away by goalkeeper Frederick Asare.

Four minutes later, Kotoko also got themselves a dangerous free kick after Eric Zeze was brought down. Henry Ansu went for a power but landed in the gloves of Felix Kyei.

On the 22nd minute, Ugandan forward Steven Mukwala jumped high to connect Baba Yahaya's decent cross into the net to give Asante Kotoko the lead.

The homesters earned themselves a free kick, Kamaradini crafted a good one but was checked by the Kotoko backline.

In the second half, the Mauves and Yellows returned on an explosive fashion and attacked right from onset in search of the leveller.

On the 54th minute, Medeama SC were awarded a penalty after Bernardinho Tetteh was brought down in the box. Diawisie Taylor stepped up and scored to level things up.

Ten minutes later, Bernard Somuah tried dazzling his way through enemy territory but was fouled for a free kick. Kotei's delivery was headed by Justice Blay but missed the target.

Goalkeeper Frederick Asare in the last ten minutes was really brilliant having pulled some crucial stops to deny the hosts from getting their second.

The game finished in a pulsating 1-1 draw after full time.
