Remarkably, four fine goals for Prince Owusu Kwabena inspired Bibiani Gold Stars to a 4-2 win over a woeful Legon Cities in the Ghana Premier League on cheerful Saturday afternoon.

The Miners turned up in the first half, racing into a 3-0 lead before the break, largely down to a Prince Owusu Kwabena masterclass. He put Gold Stars ahead with a beauty in the 12th minute mark, before adding another in the 29th and 39th minutes, respectively, to place the home team far from reach.

However, 17-year-old forward Kwabena Boateng was the dangler of Cities two goals as he fired home two goals in the 44th and 89th minutes.

Owusu Kwabena made it four to complete his haul with a stunning effort to send his team’s fans agog with a loud chant of his name.

Today’s win has left Gold Stars punching for breath by climbing to the 12th position on the league table with 18 points, while Legon Cities are still lurking on the 8th position with 24 points. After Sunday’s fixtures the table will change with Cities likely downtrodden backwards.
