Real Tamale United (RTU) delivered a commendable performance on Sunday afternoon, securing a 1-0 victory over Legon Cities FC in the Ghana Premier League.
In this Week 31 match held at the Naa Sheriga Sports Complex, the Tamale-based team hosted their Accra counterparts, both eager to claim the three points on offer.
Throughout the first half, both teams generated several scoring opportunities, but neither could capitalize, resulting in a goalless draw at the break.
The intensity continued in the second half as both sides sought a breakthrough. RTU eventually found success when Alhassan Mankuyeli netted the decisive goal, breaching the defense of Legon Cities FC.
Despite the visitors' efforts to equalize, they were unable to overcome RTU's lead and the match concluded with a 1-0 win for the home team.
This victory, however, did not significantly alter RTU's position, as they remain at the bottom of the league table. Legon Cities, on the other hand, are positioned 11th. RTU now faces the daunting task of winning their remaining four games to have any hope of avoiding relegation.
