The CEO of Bibiani Gold Stars, Akwasi Adu, has made an appeal to the club's fans, asking for their patience with coach Michael Osei, despite calls for his removal due to recent underwhelming results.
Gold Stars have had a mixed performance, with 2 wins, 5 draws, and 2 losses in their nine games so far. They have particularly struggled to secure victories in their home matches, which has led to dissatisfaction among the club's supporters.
While some fans have been calling for Michael Osei's dismissal, Akwasi Adu believes it's essential to exercise patience. He pointed out that Osei has been with the club since their promotion to the Premier League and has a track record of success.
“We have not officially gotten information from the supporters’ union but if they have such thoughts, I will tell them to exercise some patience. It’s unfair for the fans to have such thought because he is not a stranger to us. He has been with us since we gain promotion to the Premier League and has performed”
Adu emphasized the need for stability in football and advised against making hasty decisions to change coaches after every loss or draw. He highlighted that they are currently in their third season in the top flight, and knee-jerk reactions to sack the coach wouldn't lead to the desired stability.
“In football, if you are not patient and act on feelings to sack people all the time, you won’t get stability. We are in our third season; you don’t have to sack the coach when you lose or draw a game.”
Michael Osei has been in charge of Gold Stars since their promotion to the top flight. He guided them to a 10th-place finish in their debut season and a 5th-place finish in the last season.
As of now, Gold Stars are in the 9th position in the league standings with 11 points. Their upcoming match will be an away game against league leaders, Aduana FC.
