Ghana international Mohammed Salisu has lauded AS Monaco's overall performance in their UEFA Champions League clash against Dinamo Zagreb, where they managed to secure a crucial 2-2 draw after coming from behind.

The Black Stars defender made headlines by scoring his first goal in the Champions League during the match held at Stadion Maksimir in Croatia. Salisu’s well-placed header, following a cross from Maghnes Akliouche, was pivotal in reducing the deficit after Dinamo Zagreb had taken a commanding 2-0 lead.

“Great effort from the lads yesterday. Let’s keep pushing. First Champions League goal,” Salisu expressed on Instagram, reflecting on the team's determination and spirit.

The game began with Dinamo Zagreb taking the lead just before halftime, courtesy of Peter Sucic, who scored after receiving a pass from Martin Baturina. The home team extended their advantage in the 66th minute, putting Monaco under immense pressure. However, Salisu's goal sparked a comeback, and Denis Zakaria equalized from the penalty spot with just a minute remaining, ensuring that Monaco left Croatia with a vital point.

This match marked Salisu's second appearance in the Champions League, having made his debut against Barcelona last month. His stellar performance did not go unnoticed, earning him a spot in the UEFA Champions League Team of the Week.
