Asante Kotoko head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum has praised striker Albert Amoah for his heroic performance in the team's dramatic 1-0 victory over Hearts of Oak in the Ghana Premier League.
Amoah was the hero of the Super-Clash, scoring his seventh goal of the season deep into injury time after a defensive blunder involving Hearts' defender Kelvin Osei Asibey and goalkeeper Benjamin Asare. His calm finish secured a crucial win for Kotoko, extending their unbeaten run against Hearts to four matches.
In his post-match comments, Ogum acknowledged the strong performance of Hearts’ Osei Asibey, despite the costly error that led to the goal. However, Ogum emphasized that Amoah's contribution was nothing short of extraordinary.
“Osei Asibey is an excellent player, very solid and direct in his play. He played very well, and I wasn’t surprised when he was announced as the man of the match before the goal. I didn’t dispute it, but I think Albert did the unthinkable. Before the game, I told him he is an extravagant player,” Ogum said.
This victory lifts Asante Kotoko to sixth place in the league with 21 points, while Hearts of Oak drop to seventh.
