Dr Nyaho-Nyaho Tamakloe, a Board Member of Hearts of Oak, suggests that Abdul Bashiru, currently serving as the interim coach, could be confirmed as the head coach if he achieves positive results.
Following the mutual termination of Martin Koopman’s contract due to a poor run of results, Abdul Bashiru assumed the role of interim coach and managed the team in their recent matchday 14 game against Asante Kotoko, which they lost 3-2 at the Baba Yara Stadium.
In an interview with Asempa FM, Dr Nyaho Tamakloe praised Bashiru as a competent trainer and hinted at the possibility of him becoming the substantive head coach if he guides the team to successful outcomes.
“We had a substantive coach who left, and his position has been taken over by the assistant, and to me, he has done well, and to me, he is the acting coach,” said Dr Nyaho Tamakloe.
He emphasized the need to carefully observe Bashiru's performance, stating, “We are not going to make any hasty move because we know exactly what we are doing, and I can assure you that when we get good results with him, he could be confirmed as the head coach.”
Abdul Bashiru faced early exits from the MTN FA Cup in his first game and suffered losses to Aduana FC and Asante Kotoko. Hearts of Oak will be hosted by Nations FC in the Matchday 15 games at the Dr Kwame Kyei Sports Complex.
