Following their exit from the FA Cup after losing 4-3 on penalty shootout against Golden Kick FC in the Round of 16 on Sunday, Hearts of Oak coach Aboubakar Ouattara has now set his sights on competing for the Ghana Premier League title.
Owning up to Hearts of Oak's FA Cup elimination, Ouattara regretted for falling below expectations and letting down the fans
Despite the setback, he emphasized the team’s dedication and commitment to bounce back and contend strongly in the upcoming Ghana Premier League.
“My target for Hearts of Oak is to get the trophy from the national side (league title) and go to Africa and achieve some glorious name and go forward. That’s my focus,” Ouattara stated on Asempa FM.
“To go to Africa, you need to win the league in Ghana. We need to work on that and go forward,” he added.
Ultimately, Hearts of Oak are sitting 4th on the league table with 33 points after 19 rounds of matches. Meanwhile, the Ghana Premier League is due to resume on March 1.
