Hearts of Oak is currently engaged in negotiations with defender Maxwell Agyemang, who is on the verge of departing from Asante Kotoko.

Agyemang finds himself among a group of eleven players who have been advised by Asante Kotoko's newly appointed technical team to seek new opportunities elsewhere.

Originally joining Asante Kotoko from Division One side Wamanfo Mighty Royals in 2021 with a three-year contract, Agyemang showcased his defensive prowess with impressive performances.

However, under the leadership of Dr. Ogum, the technical team has communicated that Agyemang does not fit into their future plans.

In response, discussions between the 27-year-old center-back and Hearts of Oak regarding a potential transfer have reportedly progressed significantly, as the Phobians aim to secure his services ahead of the upcoming football season.

While pursuing Agyemang, Hearts of Oak faces competition from clubs in Belgium and Russia.

Agyemang played a pivotal role in Asante Kotoko's triumph in the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League, contributing to their title victory under the guidance of Coach Prosper Narteh Ogum.
