Accra Hearts of Oak has made contact with former Kumasi Asante Kotoko striker, Stephen Amankona, expressing their interest in acquiring his services for the upcoming 2023/24 season in the Ghana Premier League.
Amankona himself confirmed the talks, revealing that discussions have taken place between him and the club's representatives, including Samuel Inkoom.
“Yes, some of their leaders including Samuel Inkoom have held talks with me,” he confirmed to Ghanasportspage.com.
While Amankona acknowledged the allure of playing for a renowned club like Hearts of Oak, he emphasized that the terms of the deal would be a crucial factor in his decision.
Following an underwhelming spell at Asante Kotoko, Amankona returned to Berekum Chelsea in January.
Prior to his stint with Kotoko, the 23-year-old forward had been a key contributor for Berekum Chelsea in the 2020/21 Ghanaian top-flight season, scoring 10 goals in 28 matches and helping the team reach the FA Cup semi-finals.
