According to reports, Hearts of Oak are back in discussions with Bechem United for the potential signing of midfielder Francis Twene ahead of the 2022/23 season.
Hearts of Oak had attempted to sign Twene last season but failed to agree on a transfer fee with Bechem United, causing the deal to collapse.
Despite already having Eric Esso and Jordan Glid Otanga in their midfield, Hearts of Oak view Twene as the ideal addition to their squad.
Twene, who is 22 years old and known for his physicality, defensive cover, technique, and long shots, has been impressing fans over the last two seasons by forming a solid partnership with former Kotoko midfielder Latif Anabila.
Twene started his career with the Berekum Chelsea youth team and was promoted to the senior team in 2016. In his debut season, he made five league appearances but only made one appearance in each of the following two seasons.
However, Twene's breakthrough season came in the 2019 GFA Normalization Special Competition, during which he played in 11 out of 12 league matches and scored his first goal in a 3-1 defeat to Bechem United - the team he eventually joined in September 2019.
