Hearts of Oak are set to weave in former Black Stars midfielder Laryea Kingston into their technical team as they continue to revamp their backroom staff after last season's relegation scare.

The 42-year-old will return to his boyhood club as the assistant coach of the Phobians as management of the club has made their intentions in reshaping the technical section in bringing experienced hands on-board, and the appointment of Laryea will signal another step in that direction.


Kickgh.com, can confirm that an agreement has been ironed-out between the club and the former Ghana international - who will play an assistant coaching role for whoever is appointed as head coach of the club ahead of the new football season.

Kingston is currently the assistant coach of the Ghana national U-17 football team.


He joined the Black Starlets team after leaving his role as U-18s coach of the prestigious Right to Dream Academy in August, 2022 to pursue a bigger challenge elsewhere.


Kingston, who played for the Ghana national team from 2002 to 2010, holds a UEFA B coaching license which he acquired in February 2022.
