Hearts of Oak legend, Yaw Amankwah Mireku believes the club shouldn't have sacked Samuel Boadu despite the team's recent uninspiring performance.

Samuel Boadu was axed on Tuesday after a winless start to the season.

Hearts of Oak played a one-all draw against arch-rivals Asante Kotoko in Kumasi on Sunday.

Daniel Afriyie Barnieh, Mohammed Alhassan and Eric Ofori Antwi were not available on Sunday.

Hearts of Oak are currently 14th with two points after three games in the betPawa Premier League.

Samuel Boadu won one league title, two MTN FA Cups and a-Super Cup in two years.

Amankwah Mireku, who won the CAF Champions League with Hearts of Oak in 2000, believes that the club shouldn't have sacked Samuel Boadu.

"For me, I wasn't happy with the news," he said on Peace FM.

"I don't think he (Samuel Boadu) should've been sacked because he won five trophies in two seasons. "This is a club that had won nothing in a decade," he added.

Hearts of Oak will host Bibiani Gold Stars on Saturday.
