Head coach of Hearts of Oak, Martin Koopman has praised the mentality of his players from their last game against Bibiani Goldstars and believes they played with so much dedication this time around.

The 'Phobians' are currently winless in their last five matches after yet another 1-1 draw against the Miners over the weekend in match-day 7 of the Ghana Premier League.

The two goals registered in the game were scored late with Appiah McCarthy breaking the deadlock for the host on the 86th minute, whiles Hamza Issah levelled the score five minutes later to earn the giants a point.

Speaking in a post-match interview, the Dutch gaffer expressed satisfaction with the outcome and the general performance of the team.

"The performance of my players was fantastic so I am very happy about that. Now, we have a long period of training session, we show everything, what we need in the game and today you saw the players are very motivated, sharp and in everything. We wanted to win but 1-1 in this moment is okay” he said.

Hearts of Oak are still lurking around the relegation zone, 16th precisely with just six points after seven games.

They will host champions Medeama SC in the next round of matches this Wednesday, November 1, 2023.
