Ahead of their opening match in the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League against Real Tamale United (RTU), Hearts of Oak head coach Martin Koopman has unveiled his 23-man squad.
The match, part of matchweek 1 in the betPawa Premier League, is set to take place at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium in Tamale.
Koopman's squad features three goalkeepers: Richard Attah, Eric Ofori Antwi, and Richmond Ayi. However, the team will be without some notable players for this fixture, including Michelle Sarpong, Linda Mtange Don, Isaac Frimpong, Gideon Asante, Issah Hamza, Enock Asubonteng, and others.
Enock Asubonteng and Linda Mtange Don were unable to join the squad due to injuries, while Gideon Asante and Michelle Sarpong are currently in the process of recovering from their respective ailments. Unfortunately, young talent Hamza Issah, who was recently promoted to the senior team, will also miss his first Premier League match due to an injury.
The highly anticipated match is scheduled to kick off at 6:30 PM at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium. Fans of Hearts of Oak are eager to see how their team performs in this opening fixture of the 2023/24 season.
