Hohoe United have completed the signing of lively Ghanaian attacker Stephen Diyou, securing his services on a long-term contract as the club looks to revive its fortunes in the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League.

Diyou joins the Womee-based side from Nigerien top-flight outfit Sahel SC, adding valuable domestic and international experience to a Hohoe United squad currently battling at the lower end of the table.

The nimble-footed forward is no stranger to the Ghanaian top flight, having previously featured for Nsoatreman FC, where he earned plaudits for his pace, agility and attacking flair.

Hohoe United sit 17th on the league standings after 17 matches and are eager for an upturn in form as the second round of the season gets underway. The club has already made changes off the pitch, appointing experienced coach Boniface Ayipah following the departure of Abdul Rahim Bashiru.

Ayipah, formerly of Skyy Power FC, has been tasked with steering the Warriors away from relegation danger and improving their output in the final third. Hohoe United have managed just 13 goals while conceding 17 in the first half of the campaign — a return the club is keen to improve.

Diyou is expected to provide creativity, width and directness in attack, with hopes that his arrival will translate into vital goals and assists during the business end of the season.

The new signing could be in contention when Hohoe United host Hearts of Oak on Matchday 18, a fixture that presents an early opportunity to make an impact and ignite their survival bid.
