Asante Kotoko SC returned to team training two weeks ago at the Adako Jachie training grounds to prepare for the upcoming Democracy Cup, but the strong defender Yussif Mohammed is the only known player who is yet to report to training.
Reports indicate that Mohammed is working on a permanent transfer from Tamale to Kumasi, where he works as a nurse. Despite facing challenges balancing both professions last season, Mohammed is determined to complete the transfer before returning to Kumasi.
While there are rumors of Mohammed seeking a transfer outside Ghana, he vehemently denies these claims and confirms his commitment to Asante Kotoko SC.
“You know am a professional nurse, playing in Kumasi and working in Tamale is a difficult one. I’m still at home, working around to see how I can be transferred to Kumasi”
“I still have contract with Kumasi Asante Kotoko and when the transfer is successful, I will join my colleagues. I’m committed to Kumasi Asante Kotoko and will always give out my best.”
Asante Kotoko SC is gearing up for the Democracy Cup against Accra Hearts of Oak on July 17, 2024, at the Accra Sports Stadium.
