President and Founder of Angel Group of Companies, Dr. Augustine Kwaku Oteng has firmly denied any interest in assuming the role of Executive Board Chairman at Asante Kotoko.

Speculation arose when Kwaku Oteng paid a courtesy visit to Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the life patron of the Porcupines, at his residence in the United Kingdom a few days ago.

According to reports circulating in the local media, there is a likelihood of Manhyia dissolving the current board of directors and appointing new members for the club.

The current board, led by Executive Chairman Dr. Kwame Kyei, is reportedly preparing for their final meeting where they will finalize their reports and submit them to Otumfuo Osei Tutu.

A picture that surfaced online showed Kwaku Oteng posing with Otumfuo, intensifying rumors that he could be in line for the top job at Asante Kotoko.

However, in an interview with Kumasi-based Angel FM, Dr. Kwaku Oteng clarified that he has no interest in the position.

"I am not interested in being the next Asante Kotoko Executive Board Chairman"

Asante Kotoko finished in fourth place with 52 points in the 2022-23 betPawa Premier League, falling short of winning the league title and the FA Cup.
