Asante Kotoko head coach Abdul Karim Zito has reiterated that his personal ambition is to win the double despite taking over the club not long ago

The experienced gaffer, who once coached the club stepped in as the Technical Director and temporal head coach after the sacking of coach Prosper Narteh Ogum and has been impressive since his arrival

He is currently unbeaten in his opening four matches in all competitions with the recent win coming against his former club Dreams FC - in a game they won by an emphatic 4-1 over the weekend

Speaking after the game, the former Black Satellites gaffer says he needs the freedom to execute his duties and is hoping to win both the league and FA Cup by the end of the ongoing season

“Unfortunately, my own boy left, so I had to take over till the season ends. So for now, leave me in peace to work and see out the rest of the league and then the knockout [FA Cup Final]. I prefer [winning] a double, so for the position, it doesn’t matter. What matters now is I’m leading the team, and we have to do better.”

Asante Kotoko are currently in fourth place with 54 points, just three off the top-spot with three games to go

They are also in the final of the MTN FA Cup against lower-division side Golden Kick FC
