In an interview with Wontumi TV, Nana Yaw Amponsah, the CEO of Asante Kotoko, acknowledged that his relationship with the club's board chairman, Dr. Kwame Kyei, is not in the best condition.
After keeping quiet about the matter for some time, the CEO finally addressed it openly. Despite the strained relationship, Nana Yaw Amponsah emphasized that he holds Dr. Kwame Kyei in the highest regard and respects him.
"On a personal level, I have no issues with Dr. Kwame Kyei. I always show him the utmost respect whenever and wherever I encounter him. However, our relationship and the communication between me as the CEO and him as the board chairman is not as good as it was initially," Nana Yaw Amponsah stated.
He further added, "If he says he has no problem with me, I would be a bit surprised. I was not taught to respond to hatred with hatred," during the interview with Wontumi TV.
As Asante Kotoko prepares to conclude their disappointing season, they will face Dreams FC at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday.
Meanwhile, despite being in his third year as the Kotoko CEO, there have been discussions about whether Nana Yaw Amponsah should be allowed to continue in his role.
