Medeama SC coach Ibrahim Tanko says victory over Bibiani Gold Stars was the moment he started believing his side would win this season’s Ghana Premier League title.
The Medeama boss admitted he became even more confident after their match against Basake Holy Stars, with the club eventually winning the title before the final round of games.
Tanko made the comments during his pre-match press conference ahead of Medeama’s final league game against Hearts of Oak.
“I think the day we beat Bibiani Gold Stars and they stayed behind us, then after the game against Basake Holy Stars, I was about 90 to 95 percent sure we were going to win the league,” he told Medi TV.
“And God has been so good. We finished it with Heart of Lions here and won the title with one game before the end of the season. I think it is a very good achievement.”
Medeama head into the Matchweek 34 fixture in strong form after winning four of their last five matches and will hope to end the campaign with another positive result away from home.
Hearts of Oak, meanwhile, have managed just one win in their last five league matches, alongside two draws and two defeats.
