Black Stars head coach Otto Addo, despite speaking highly of FC Samartex and Medeama SC, still wants to watch the Super-Clash between Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko before he can legitimately predict who will win the Ghana Premier League this season.

The 49-year-old gaffer is still in his native Ghana for weeks now following the Black Stars 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers of which he failed to grind a win in the opening two matches against Angola and Niger.

Still in the country, the former Borussia Dortmund trainer was present at the University of Ghana Stadium over the weekend to watch Medeama SC record a precious 0-1 away win over Legon Cities and feels they are part of the favourites to win the league alongside defending champions FC Samartex.

He further stated that, he hasn't really watched the two giants Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko matches but will like to see them lock horns against each other before he can genuinely choose a deserved favourite for the championship.

"From what I saw from Medeama and also Samartex, they are doing well. So maybe it's among these two, but I haven't seen all the matches, so I'm eager also to watch Kotoko and Hearts of Oak, and all the good teams, and then we'll see."

"But at the moment I can't make any statement about who will win the league."

The Black Stars will regroup next for match-day three and four against Sudan in a double header in the 2025 AFCON.
