Asante Kotoko’s Communications Director Sarfo Duku has described as “very unfortunate” the recent comments made by former midfielder Justice Blay, who accused ex-teammate Kwame Opoku of being involved in a personal relationship with his girlfriend during his time at the club.
Speaking to Luv FM, Duku said the club had taken note of the claims but considered them a private matter that should not have been brought into the public domain.
“Justice Blay’s comment is very unfortunate, it was least expected of him. As a club, we are looking at the whole issue, we are investigating it and we may come out officially at the appropriate time,” he said.
Blay made the allegation in a recent interview with Pure FM, claiming the incident disrupted both his personal life and professional focus while playing for the Porcupine Warriors. Opoku has not yet responded publicly to the accusation.
Kotoko have indicated that further action will be taken regarding the public fallout.
