Karela United have announced the club has signed defender Bismark Osei Owusu from Tema based Chase FC.
The young lad will be in the fold of the Pride and Passion side for the rest of the season with an option for an extension.
Owusu has already made his debut for Karela, featuring in their matchday 19 win against Berekum Chelsea and will be expected to continue to provide winning experience to the club’s back line.
"Bismark Osei Owusu is a central defender who can play as right back. Bismark has already made his debut in our last victory over Berekum Chelsea and joined us from Tema based side Chase FC. He's young but versatile and a good passer of the ball. Welcome to the Pride and Passion Family," wrote Karela, announcing Owusu's signing.
The versatile defender's arrival offers coach Nurudeen Amadu another versatile option to bolster the backline.
Owusu is accustomed to playing in a back three at Chase therefore will need to adapt to playing in a back four, and the shift to a more possession-heavy system will also be an adjustment he has to make.
However, his passing ability and comfort on the ball should allow him to transition smoothly into Karela's tactical style as they aim to dust off the struggle they went through in the first round of the season.
