Asante Kotoko head coach Karim Zito has admitted his disappointment over the team’s four-game winless streak, a period that has tested both the players and the club’s supporters.

Zito believes the club should be performing better at this stage of the season and acknowledges the growing pressure as fans grow increasingly frustrated.

“For disappointment, it is there,” he told Asante Kotoko TV. “But as I always say, no player at Kotoko is guaranteed to stay on the bench. When you join the club, we assess everyone, and those who understand the tactical plan best are the ones who start.

“This is a big opportunity for the players who were not injured to step up, perform well, and make an impact before the others return. That’s the approach we are taking.

“We don’t dwell on injuries. Yes, it’s painful and frustrating, but we focus on ourselves and on doing better to win. Fortunately, some of the injured players have started coming back, and that’s a positive for us.”

Kotoko will look to end their winless run when they host Dreams FC at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday, December 14, with kickoff set for 3:00 pm.
